Production

Production is the actual making of the film, there are various stages in making a film.

These stages are:
The very actual idea of the film
Expand your idea
Story Board your film
Develop an aesthetic for your film
Assemble a crew
Cast your crew with the appropriate actors for the parts
Dress the sets and scout the location
Gather and test your equipment
Film your film
Edit your film
Add sound effects  and music
Create the title and credits sequence
Export the film to the digital format (DVD)
Make a teaser or trailer


Distribution

Distribution is the process in which your film is taken to a distributor to watch to see if your film will sale and be popular in the box office and finding a company to sponsor your film
Distributors normally decide to ho for a release on one weekend as opposed to another because there is some much competition between other films that they would want a weekend that doesn't have as many new releases so it has more of a chance of making a hit in the box office.

Marketing

Marketing is the advertising of your film, which gets the population wanting to go and see your film.
some examples of marketing are:

Film Trailers/Teasers: This gives people an idea about what the film is about



Posters Advertisements: Gives people sub-conscious reminders of your film













Premières :Where the cast of the film, make an big appearance a night before the film is released which attracts a lot of media and fans



Exhibition

Exhibition is how the audience view your film.
There are many different ways in which i audience could view your film a few of them being 

Film theaters were the audience can go watch your film on a large screen, in 3D or not and in a quiet, comfortable atmosphere

Buying new releases from websites/softwares legally an example of this is itunes in which you can buy new box office releases and watch comfortably at home on your computer, ipod, tablets and phones

Tv Payments were you can also pay to watch new releases on your TV an example of this would be sky movies

The Film Value Chain: is the process of what happens to the releases after they have been screened.

1* Every film has a premiere. They all advertise their films on buses, billboards, youtube advertisements etc. Advertisement is a huge thing for the film industry because it attracts their target audience where ever they may be e.g. going past a bus in Central London. Without advertisement, not many people would know about the existence of the film they spent millions and billions on making it. They would suffer financially because no one would be motivated to watch it as they never seen any advertisements about it. Film industries have a premiere a day or two before the release of their upcoming movie to get all the people together and know about it and actually go to cinemas and watch it. In 2012 over £300 million spent on P&A which are prints and advertising by film distributors.
